Proxy Server - Important Information
OUHSC affiliated users can login on this page. Norman affiliated users will need to go to the OU Libraries page to access resources. Unfortunately licensing issues with these products don't allow for broad access to both library resources and we apologize for the inconvenience.
The proxy makes it appear as though you are part of the campus network, thereby granting you access to IP restricted resources.
The Bird Library utilizes proxy software
which is compatible with Internet Explorer, Netscape and other browsers, and does not require you to configure your browser.
Security Certificate
When
accessing journals from off-campus
, a few electronic journals may not be accessible
using a third-party Internet service provider due to proxy
restrictions imposed by the publisher, but email us to make sure
this is the case if you have problems.
When you click
on a resource that is restricted by IP address and you are not on the OUHSC
network or using the OUHSC modem pool, you will be brought to this page and will
need to login. The login is your OUHSC domain userid and password (the same one
you use to access your campus email) and will be good as long as your browser is
open if you have your browser set to accept cookies. That means that if
you access another restricted resource during the session, you won't be required
to login again.
Once you exit the
browser, you will be required to login the next time you open your browser and
attempt to access a restricted resource.
The security for the proxy server has been enhanced. You shouldn't receive an error indicating there is a problem with the security certificate, but if you do click OK, Continue or Accept to gain access to resources.
